BANGALORE: The much publicised discussion between former Prime Minister H D Deve Gowda and Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa on the alleged step motherly treatment meted out to Hassan district by the BJP government will take place in the city on July 8.
"Yeddyurappa has fixed July 8 as the date for a detailed discussion with me on the issue of lack of developmental activities in Hassan district. I have received a letter to that effect from the chief minister's principal secretary. I have accepted the invitation," Gowda said in an informal chat with reporters here on Sunday. It may be recalled that Gowda went on a day's hunger strike in front of Yeddyurappa's official residence on Race Course Road on June 27 to register his protest against step motherly treatment meted out to his home district of Hassan by the BJP government. He had said that the people of Hassan are suffering as they voted the JD(S) in all the elections and hence he will atone for their mistake by holding a hunger strike.
