BANGALORE: The High Court dismissed a petition challenging the land acquisition for construction of Yeshwanthpur metro station.The single bench headed by Justice B V Nagarathna who heard the petitioner, GM Babu dismissed the petition and has upheld the acquisition order.The petitioner, G M Babu, a city based industrialist, had challenged the land acquisition order. In contended that he owns business in the acquired land since 1976 and has been sanctioned loan to extend his business. He further submitted that there was no plan said to construct the Soap Factory station earlier and had requested the Special Land Acquisition officer (SLAO) in this regard. The petitioner had objected to the manner of acquisition and stated that the SLAO without considering objection nor conducting inquiry had passed an order. Stating that the proposed land is surrounded by other properties and building, he sought to quash the acquisition order by SLAO. The court dismissed the petition and upheld the acquisition order.
