New Delhi: Monsoon rains lashed the national capital early morning on Saturday. Trees have fallen in several parts of the city with reports of waterlogging in South, Central and Outer Delhi.

South and East Delhi were the worst affected areas as colony roads were submerged in knee-deep water on Friday. Rains in Noida also brought relief from the scorching heat. Fortunately no major reports of water-logging were reported in Noida.

The MET department has predicted more thunderstorms and showers in Delhi and the NCR region. Commuting could be a pain in the next few hours with traffic snarls expected .

However, spirits are not dampened with residents enjoying fresh spells of rain. " We didn't expect the rainfall as it wasn't forecast-ed, but we are sad the walk is cancelled, happy that the weather is good," said a resident.
