Hoax bomb threat at Karur GH creates a flutter

KARUR: A bomb threat at the government hospital here led to much commotion here on Wednesday. A search by the police, however, revealed it to be a hoax.A letter, from Thamizh Kalvi Valarchi Padai, Karur 1, addressed to the joint director (JD) of health services, Karur GH, warned that a bomb would explode around 2 pm on the premises of the hospital if the demands of Kanimozhi’s release on bail and the implementation of Samacheer Kalvi were not met. A team of policemen and a bomb detection squad with a sniffer dog rushed to the hospital. But after a thorough search, the threat was found to be a hoax.Police were investigating if the threat was connected to the visit of the World Bank’s health team to the GH on Wednesday.
