HYDERABAD: An unconventional and snazzy decor, a magazine to flip through, wifi to carry on with your work and a cup of coffee to savour while you wait for your turn - this and more are a feature of the Yuva Branch inaugurated by the chief general manager of the State Bank of India, Rakesh Sharma at Road No. 36, Jubilee Hills on Thursday.Targeted at young professionals, especially from the IT sector in the city, it is a first of its kind branch in the country. The working hours too are unlike the regular SBI branches. It opens at 1 p.m and closes at 7 p.m. for the convenience of working professionals.A coffee bar, gaming console and a self-service kiosk for cash deposits, passbook updates and other services greet the customers at the entrance, bringing a welcome change to the staid image which characterizes banks. We are a bank which takes pride in being the bank across generations. Positioned for the youth, the Yuva Branch will cater to the young professionals. Different aspects such as decor, ambiance and lighting were taken care of in designing the branch,” said regional manager of SBI BR Satyanarayana.Close to Rs 80 lakh was spent to set up the branch and the idea is likely to be replicated in Ahmedabad soon, revealed chief general manager, Rakesh Sharma.“On the lines of our Kohinoor Banjara branch targeted at high networth individuals and Vasundhara Jubilee Senorita for high networth female customers, the Yuva Branch targets the youth segment. The special services offered include 50 per cent concessions on processing charges on loans among others,” explained chief general manager who expected corporate salary accounts to bolster the business of the branch. He declared that the branch will break-even in a year.
