Hyderabad: At least 2 persons have died after multi-story building collapsed in Nanakramguda area of Hyderabad late Thursday night.
It is suspected 10 more people could be still trapped under the debris. Rescue operations continue in full swing in search of life. Till now 2 persons including one woman and a child have been brought out alive, who are being treated in a nearby hospital.

Two people including a child were rescued from under the debris and shifted to the hospital early on Friday.

For more than 12 hours now, NDRF teams along with GHMC and police continue with rescue operations. 2 NDRF teams of 80 personal are deployed at incident site along with canine squad.
NDRF deputy Commandant Kuldeep told CNN-News18, “Rescue operations will continue till evening. Building collapsed like a pack of cards. Since it’s a residential area with narrow roads, it’s a challenging task to clear debris. We can only hope of finding more people alive. Nearby building has also been evacuated as a precautionary measure"
Meanwhile, minister for Municipal administration and urban development, KT Rama Rao visited the building collapse site and reviewed rescue operations.
He announced Rs 10 lakhs ex gratia for family of deceased and Rs 1 lakh for injured. Case has been registered the builder, Satyanarayana Singh who is absconding.
Special teams have been formed to arrest the builder. Also concerned Deputy Commissioner and Town planning officers have been suspended.
KT Rama Rao told CNN-News18, "The builder used poor quality material and it has no permissions. Government cannot run away from the responsibility but at the same time it is the greed of builders and some officials that allow illegal constructions to come up. The incident is again a call to act and make tougher laws".
Reports suggest 13-15 labours and their families were inside building when it collapsed. Relatives and people from their villages have gathered at the accident site and are waiting anxiously to get information about their loved ones. The death toll is expected to rise.
