BELLARY: Former health minister B Sreeramulu on Saturday asserted that he would never withdraw his resignation that he submitted to the Speaker.Sreeramulu told reporters on Saturday, “There have been some rumours that my resignation was a drama. It is not. I will never take back the resignation that I submitted to the Speaker.”“There have also been reports in the media that I have been avoiding a CBI inquiry. I have not received any notice from the CBI so far. If I receive a notice, I am ready to cooperate in the investigations into the illegal mining case,” he added.He also sought basic facilities in the jail for former Minister G Janardhana Reddy, whom he termed as an accused and not a convict.Requesting the government to allow legal mining in the district, he said that around five lakh people working in sponge iron units have been rendered jobless because of the blanket ban on mining. Sreeramulu also said farmers should be allowed to dig on their land for iron ore to earn their living. However, when it was pointed out that the BJP government had banned digging on patta lands, he did not reply.He refused to comment on the CBI’s plans to conduct narco-analysis test on Janardhana Reddy.
