Attempting to inspire younger generations to join the Indian Air Force (IAF) and make them aware of their abilities, the air force is all set to conduct their 80th Anniversary celebrations at Orion Mall in the city on September 8 and 9.
Air Commodore Dharam Veer, Air Officer Commanding of Air Force Station Jalahalli said that their decision to host the event at a public place had its benefits.
He said that the IAF would have officials explaining career opportunities in the IAF, hoping to raise awareness and also create interest amongst youngsters to become part of the force.
“If the event is conducted at an Air Force station, then screening hundreds of visitors becomes a problem,” he said.
Stating that there were many interactive activities slated for the two days, he said that this was an opportunity for the IAF to showcase their abilities to the public.
During the two days, the IAF would conduct parades, drills, and have aero-modelling displays including weapons simulators for the public to experience.
He also said that they would have an Air Warrior Symphony Orchestra at Chowdiah Hall on September 10
