KOPPAL: Voters in Koppal have got a second chance to choose their representative, though their options aren’t more.The poor performance of BJP candidate Sanganna Karadi, who represented the constituency under different party tickets and Congress candidate Basavaraj Hitnal, who represented the constituency during 2004-2008 is clear.Though voters have a new face in JD(S) candidate Pradeepagouda Patil, he is a political novice and could find it difficult meeting voters’ expectations.Apart from the influence of caste and money, low literacy rate and cynicism of the educated class in exercising their franchise could help an undeserving candidate.Meanwhile, poll campaign reached a crescendo on Friday with the presence of a host of BJP leaders, including CM D V Sadananda Gowda.JD(S) leaders led by H D Kumaraswamy addressed public gathering.
