New Delhi: The revamped India Couture Week is scheduled to begin from July 15 and this year's event has been extended to six days with off-site shows.

Ten of the top designers of the country have been selected to showcase their designs at the 2014 edition including Anamika Khanna, Anju Modi, Gaurav Gupta, Manish Arora, Manish Malhotra, Monisha Jaising, Rina Dhaka, Rohit Bal

Sabyasachi Mukherjee and Varun Bahl.

"This time we decided to call it the India Couture Week as opposed to Delhi Couture Week. We always have designers from around the country and that is why we felt we should go back to its original name," Sunil Sethi, President FDCI, told reporters here today.

"We also made it into a six-day event so that designers have enough time to prepare their extravagant stage setting. There will be close to 12 events including cocktail previews, press previews and so on," he added.

Designer Manish Malhotra said he was very excited to be named among the ten designers at the event. "The couture week here has definitely given me a

stronghold in Delhi in the last four years. It has been an amazing experience from the business point of view as well. It is a very special event for me," he said. Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers will be the title sponsor this year and its designer jewellery collection will be seen on the ICW runway.

"We will launch our two bridal collection Svara & Sondaraya for the bridal season through various fashion shows," Praveen Goel, CEO, Shree Raj Mahal Jewellers.
