Industrialists protest against power cuts

HYDERABAD: Industrialists of Nacharam, Mallpur, Uppal and Cherlapalli on Sunday observed a two-day fast at Nacharam crossroads in protest against the state government for imposing sixhour daily power cuts.Speaking at the dharna, BJP spokesperson NVSS Prabhakar said the government was showing a stepmotherly treatment to the industrial sector by imposing long power cuts.“The industry is contributing nearly 40 per cent to the state’s revenue but their growth, production and survival is at stake,” Prabhakar said.He demanded the government should purchase power from neighbouring states and supply it to the industry.
