Mumbai: Dancing diva Madhuri Dixit paid a tribute to evergreen beauty Sridevi in the initial promos of reality show 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5'. Now both the Bollywood beauties are set to share the stage on the show.
Sridevi will be a part of the celebrity dance show's grand finale, to be aired on Colors Sep 30, sources confirmed.
Once competitors on the big screen, the small screen is set to bring them in the same frame, and viewers can expect to burn the dance floor with their charm, poise and grace.
Sridevi will make a visit to the sets of the show to promote her forthcoming film 'English Vinglish', which marks her comeback to cinema after 15 years.
Madhuri is one of the judges on the show, with filmmaker Karan Johar and choreographer Remo D'Souza.
Before the ongoing season went on air, Madhuri had shot promos, paying a tribute to Bollywood's screen divas, by dancing to their popular numbers.
She recreated Sridevi's look from the song 'Kaante nahin kat te' from the film 'Mr.India'.
Sridevi's 'English Vinglish' is releasing Oct 5, and narrates the story of a housewife, who tries to learn English for the sake of her family. The movie, directed by Gauri Shinde, received a positive response at the recently held Toronto International Film Festival.
Comedian Bharti Singh, who surprised the judges with her dancing abilities in 'Jhalak Dikhhla Jaa 5', was eliminated from the dance reality show Saturday.
The 26-year-old had made it to the top five contestants of the show along with choreographer Savio Barnes. Judged by actress Madhuri Dixit, ace choreographer Remo D'Souza and filmmaker Karan Johar, the comedian had managed to be in their good books with her brimming enthusiasm.
Bharti also got appreciated for her energetic dance moves, specially the lifts by Barnes, despite her weight. She even got a standing ovation from everyone with her emotional performance on song 'Kyu main jaagu' from movie 'Patiala House' and left most of them in tears.
Besides giving a dose of laughter in between her acts, Bharti surprised everyone with her versatile performances, be it Bollywood songs like "Chammak challo" or doing the Marathi folk dance 'Lavani'. She made sure to rock the stage every time she performed. She was even lifted by Akshay Kumar in a recent episode, where the actor had come to promote his upcoming film 'Oh My God'.
Her claim to fame was stand up comedy show 'The Great Indian Laughter Challenge' where she established herself by her hilarious character of Lalli. She later went on to do various comedy shows like 'Comedy Circus' and 'Comedy Circus Ka Naya Daur' before deciding to put on her dancing shoes.
Now with only Isha Shervani, Gurmeet Choudhary, Rithvik Dhanjani, and Rashmi Desai Sandhu left in the league to compete, the competition is going to be tougher every time.
