J&K: 1 CRPF personnel killed in terror attack in Srinagar

Srinagar: A Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) personnel was killed and another injured in a terror attack in Nowgam area of Srinagar.

The CRPF personnel were attacked by a group of terrorists on Wednesday at around 3.30 PM injuring the Assistant Sub-Inspector and a constable of the 29 Battalion, a senior CRPF officer said.

Both the injured personnel were referred to the Army base hospital. The ASI, critically wounded in the attack, succumbed to injuries on way to Army hospital, the officer said.

The terrorists, who came in a car, fled towards Pulwama after carrying out the attack, he said. The constable was stated to be in stable condition, he said.

No terrorists outfit has so far claimed responsibility for the attack. A hunt has been launched to nab the terrorists, the officer said.
