Udhampur: Rescued pilgrims on Saturday showed their angst over the slow rescue programmes and lack of co-ordination by the government in Udhampur district in Jammu and Kashmir.
Pilgrims also complained that though the government has set-up relief camps and has been rescuing people, no minister came to survey the situation at the relief camps. Few also complained about the slow relief process.
"This morning we got back in a state vehicle from Uttarkashi, that we had to bribe Rs 536 to get on board," a rescued pilgrim said.
The death toll in Uttarakhand floods has reached 1000 and continues to rise. The massive rescue operations are still on in Uttarakhand a week after the floods where 73,000 people have been evacuated so far from various parts of the flood-hit state.
