Bangalore: Kannada actor-producer Raghavendra Rajkumar is recuperating in a private hospital here after emergent surgery conducted to remove a blood clot in his brain, a hospital spokesman said Thursday.
"The actor is responding to treatment and feeling better than yesterday (Wednesday - when the clot was detected). Though all his vital health parameters are normal, he is still under observation," the spokesman told IANS here.
The 48-year-old second son of Kannada thespian Rajkumar was rushed to Columbia Asia referral hospital in the city's northwest suburb early Wednesday after he complained of uneasiness at a gym near his residence where he goes regularly for fitness exercises.
According to the hospital's consultant (anesthesiology) Medha Huilgol, the actor was operated soon after admission to remove the clot from one of the blood vessels in the brain.
"An angiogram test revealed he did not have any heart problem though he had undergone an angioplasty procedure two decades ago at a city hospital then," Huilgol told reporters.
Though hundreds of fans flocked to the hospital to know Raghavendra's welfare, the hospital authorities requested them to disperse after meeting his brothers and relatives outside, as the actor was resting and should not be disturbed.
"There is no cause for worry. He is out of danger. Our prayers have been answered. He is recovering from the surgery," his elder brother and popular Kannada actor Shivarajkumar told reporters outsider the hospital.
Besides acting in a dozen Kannada movies, Raghavendra produced hit films such as "Jackie", "Anna Bond" and "Yaare Koogadali", starring his younger brother Puneet Rajkumar.
