BANGALORE: To urge the state government to provide reservation in jobs, both at government level and multinational companies, for those who have completed primary schooling in Kannada,  Nava Karnataka Nirman Vedike will organise ‘Kannada Ratha Yatre’ which will start from Shimoga on December 1  and reach Bangalore on December 5. Speaking at  a press conference, Go Ramesh Gowda, president of the vedike, said, “In current situation, the number of children enrolling at  Kannada medium schools has drastically come down and the enrolment ratio has dropped by 60-70 per cent when compared with the records of last ten years. This has lead to the closure of many Kannada medium schools. The ratio has dropped as the ones who pass out of the Kannada medium schools are not ensured with jobs. So we request the government to reserve more jobs for them,” said.As part of the Yatre,  documentaries based on the reasons for dip in the enrolment ratio in Kannada medium schools will be projected .
