Indians around the world came together to celebrate the historic inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya, Uttar Pradesh and the pran pratishtha ceremony that is taking place on Monday marking the homecoming of Lord Ram. Across the US, UK as well as in Australia, the global Indian diaspora were united in jubilation as the event marked a profound moment in the nation’s cultural history.

Hindus abroad expressed their connections to Ayodhya and the significance of the Ram Mandir for the diaspora. The Indian diaspora in the US illuminated Times Square, New York to celebrate the event.
“We never thought that we would witness this day in this lifetime. Soon Ayodhya’s Ram Temple Pran Pratishtha ceremony will take place. People in Times Square are also celebrating this. All this is taking place under the leadership of PM Modi… People across the world are eager for this moment…,” Prem Bhandari, Overseas Friends of Ram Mandir, was quoted as saying by news agency ANI. The group also distributed sweets to people inside Times Square.
A report by the news agency further said that events were lined up all the way from New York Times Square to Boston, as well as in Washington, DC, Los Angeles and San Francisco. These will happen at the same time as the ceremony in India happens.
In New Jersey’s Monroe, a 25-feet statue of Lord Hanuman was brought for installation by the devotees. Suryanarayana Maddula, the chairman of the temple and culture centre, along with trustee Pankaj Mohan, and co-founders Ramesh Taduvai and Ramkrishna Sannidhi were joined by community leaders Alok Kumar, Sanjeev Singh, Rajiv Akhaury and Anurag Kumar as the statue arrived in Monroe, news agency ANI reported.
The inauguration of the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya garnered international attention, with political leaders and lawmakers from around the world extending their wishes ahead of the ceremony.
Israeli envoy to India Kobbi Shoshani in a post on social media site X posted a photo of Ayodhya and said he ‘can feel the history in the air’. “I can feel the history in the air…even far from Ayodhya,” Shoshani said.
The Israeli Ambassador to India, Naor Gilon, also extended warm greetings to the people of India ahead of the ‘Pran Pratishtha’ ceremony at the Ram Mandir in Ayodhya. He expressed his desire to visit the temple in the near future as well. “Hearty greetings to the people of India on this auspicious occasion of Ram Mandir Pran Pratishtha. This is a historic moment for devotees across the world,” the Israeli ambassador said in a post on social media site X.
