KCHR flayed for adding Pattanam to Muziris area

KOCHI: The Centre for Social, Cultural and Development Studies came down heavily on the Kerala Council For Historical Research (KCHR) for including Pattanam within the Muziris area. “Apart from its agenda to declare Pattanam as Muziris, the KCHR has no other academic interest”, the  organisation said in a statement.Eminent personalities in the field of history, literature and culture have submitted a requesting demanding the reconstitution of the KCHR and the transfer of the Pattanam excavation to the Archeological Survey of India.The misguided academic world is now going by the words of the KCHR historians by declaring Pattanam as Muziris. In the absence of a concrete evidence to prove that Pattanam is part of the Muziris, the KCHR is spreading a  false propaganda about Pattanam being Muziris.In the name of promoting and conserving the heritage of Kodungalloor, the Muziris Heritage Project is spreading a false propaganda about Kodungaloor being an ancient business hub.Historians from international universities will not be able to trace the historical significance of Kodungaloor. These historians are spreading the propaganda in the belief that this would make awards and recognitions come their way, the statement said.
