LDF files complaint against Aryadan

KOCHI: The Left Democratic Front on Saturday filed a complaint with the State Election Commission against Power Minister Aryadan Mohammed’s statement that the UDF candidate in Piravom Anoop Jacob would be made a minister if he wins the election.Chief electoral officer Nalini Netto said that a complaint had been received in this regard and it would be forwarded to the Election Commission of India. According to the complaint, proclaiming ministers was a blatant violation of the election code of conduct.The ministership issue had already kicked up a row with the Left and the UDF engaged in a war of words.   Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan and CPM state secretary Pinarayi Vijayan had come out against Aryadan’s statement. They had  asked the Election Commission to take necessary action.Meanwhile, KPCC president Ramesh Chennithala, while speaking at the UDF election convention in Piravom on Friday, declared that Anoop would become a minister the very next week after his win.
