HYDERABAD: Two doctors had a narrow escape while an elderly maid suffered minor injuries when a lift suddenly came crashing down to the ground floor after lift cables snapped at the Gandhi General Hospital on Wednesday. Around 8 a.m on Wednesday, two duty doctors and one maid were going to third floor through a lift on the main building premises. As the lift reached the second floor of the eight-storeyed building, the lift cables snapped suddenly and the lift came crashing down to the ground floor. In the incident, two doctors had narrow escape while an aged maid got minor injuries to her legs. Dr BT Prasad, superintendent, Gandhi General Hospital said the incident occurred after lift cables snapped at the main building. “Maintenance work is going on the lift and the repairs will be completed by Thursday morning,” he added.
