Lokayukta police trap corrupt cops

BANGALORE: The Lokayukta police trapped a police Sub-inspector and constable from Wilson Garden police station, while the duo were accepting bribe on Wednesday.SI Mohan Kumar and constable Dodda Siddaiah were caught red handed by Lokayukta sleuths, while accepting cash from one Sridhar. The police said one, Manjula, had filed a case against the complainant Sridhar for creating fake GPA document for a land. However, he availed anticipatory bail from the court but the SI allegedly was harassing him and asked to pay a bribe amount of Rs. 4 lakh to settle the case. He had also threatened Sridhar to send to jail if he did not pay the money.The police said, constable Siddaiah went to Sridhar’s house every day demanding money from him. Sridhar escaped from there and lodged a complaint with the Lokayukta police. The Lokayukta sleuths trapped the corrupt officials.An officer said that the tainted SI Mohan Kumar, was the security officer in the Lokayukta Special Court.
