CHENNAI: The married lover of an Andhra woman, who was found murdered at her apartment at JJ Nagar, near Mogappair on Monday, was arrested for her murder. The body of Bhavana Reddy (26), a freelance beautician of Rajahmundry, AP, was found by her friend Sabitha Begum (37). The police traced her contacts with the help of a diary recovered from her house, which helped them zero in on the main suspect, her married lover N Suresh (29) of Nehru Park Housing Board on Poonamalle High Road.Suresh, an employee of a private aluminum plate company, was picked up for probe near Chintadripet on Tuesday. He initially denied his hand in the murder, but later told the cops that he met Bhavana at a beauty parlour in Villivakkam about three years ago and became intimate with her, even though she was aware that he was married with two daughters. “Of late, she started pestering him to marry her, but he was not willing. That was the motive for the murder,” JCP S Sankar told Express. On Friday, she asked him to come to her house, but he ignored it. On Sunday, he was drinking with friends, when he remembered her invite and went to her house in the evening. Following a verbal tiff, he picked up a kitchen knife and slashed her throat, killing her on the spot.
