Eight candidates from various political parties filed their nomination papers for the Gautam Buddha Nagar parliamentary constituency here on Friday.
The papers were filed at the office of the Returning Officer, said Assistant Returning Officer Bachu Singh.
Among the leaders who filed nominations was Narinder Bhati from Samajwadi Party.
Bhati, who is intermediate pass, has agriculture land residential plots and commercial properties, according to the affidavit filed by him.
Satish Awana from BSP also filed his papers on Friday. He has studied up to high school and is a resident of Harola. He is a businessman and also earns by renting his house. He too owns agriculture lands and residential properties.
Another leader who filed the papers on Friday was Ramesh Chand Tomar from Congress. He has done BSc and MSc from Agra University and PhD from Delhi University. His source of income is pension and investment rentals.
KP Singh from Aam Aadmi Party also filed his papers. He has studied up to high school and is a businessman. He too has agriculture and residential lands.
Four other leader from unrecognised parties also filed their nominations as Independent candidates. They are Rubez Alam Rahi, Dharminder, Sonia Sharma and Ram Vilas.
A total of 13 candidates have filed nomination papers for the seat till Friday, Singh said.
"Earlier BJP candidate Mahesh Sharma and four Independent candidates had filed nomination papers," he said.
