The Madhya Pradesh sports department said it is "against the state's culture".

Bhopal: The Madhya Pradesh sports department on Monday said it will not allow cheerleaders at World Series Hockey (WSH) matches to be held here as it is "against the state's culture".

The World Series Hockey as been organised for the first time for hockey and is based on the concept of the English Premier League in football and Indian Premier League in cricket. Hockey players from across India and world are playing for eight teams in the tournament that began Feb 29.
