Mumbai: A child who has completed five years on July 31 can be considered for admission to the first standard in the coming (2015-16) academic year, Maharashtra government on Wednesday said.
The government also formulated rules for admissions in the non-aided schools in pre-primary class and std first under the 25 per cent quota for underprivileged children under the Right to Education Act, an official release said.
If admission capacity in pre-primary class (KG) is more than the first standard, 25 per cent of the capacity in the first standard would be reserved in the pre-primary class.
