A man was battered to death, while his friend was seriously injured after being attacked with a shovel by a man in Nayapalli area in Bhubaneswar on Saturday night.
The brutal act of murder was caught on camera in which a man - who was identified as Seemanchal Jena - was seen attacking two youths several times on head.
The deceased was identified as Basant Pradhan while the injured one is Lambodar Pradhan. Both of them belong to Ganjam district in Odhisa.
Based on CCTV footage, the police managed to arrest Jena from a slum in the same locality.
Preliminary inquiry revealed that they (victims) used to interfere in domestic disputes between Jena and his wife.
"Jena was suspecting that the victims were having an extra marital affair with his wife and he though to eliminate both of them. One of the victims is admitted in the hospital and his condition is stated to be critical," police sources said.
