Hard work is the key to success. It is believed that a person should treat the obstacles as a challenge to thrive further. A man from Mangaluru abided by this rule and is now earning handsomely through a tea stall. Once a gym owner, Sachin Karkera of Mangalore repaid his loan of Rs 8 lakh in two years. He is the owner of Kamadhenu Tea Stall near Bijay Pyo Mall, Mangaluru. Sachin had poured all his hard-earned money and started a gym. Sachin is a gym trainer himself and took a heavy loan to meet the requirements for the gym. Things took a downturn after the Covid-19 pandemic.
The lack of customers and high rent made Sachin wonder about the repayment of the loan. In a need for a break from the financial crisis, Sachin decided to visit the Adiyogi place in Coimbatore, in a bid to seek guidance and wisdom. There, he saw a man who was selling delicious tea and got the inspiration to start his own business of the same. He started a tea stall in a small shop of 100 square feet on Bijay Church Road, Mangaluru.
Sachin, who gives importance to quality and hygiene, has never compromised on these two factors since the beginning. The price of tea available in a glass cup in Sachin’s small shop is Rs 25. He uses high-quality sugar, jaggery-filtered water and the best-quality of milk in his tea. The cleaning of the teacup is also fully automated. Sachin’s opinion is that tea is not just tea, it should be healthy tea.
Sachin has paid off the loan of Rs 8 lakh for the gym in two years. Every day, more than 200 customers visit Sachin’s shop for tea. Good ambience, attractive wall paintings, and hygiene are all the hallmarks of Sachin’s tea shop. Apart from tea, Sachin also sells snacks like buns, ambode, chattambade and avalakki.
