Tehran: Iran's semiofficial Fars news agency is reporting that 50 people survived a plane crash in the country's northwest.
There was no confirmed information on any dead from Sunday's crash. The news report quoted the head of Iran's State Emergency Center, Gholam Reza Masoumi, as saying 50 people survived with light injuries.
The national civil aviation authority says the IranAir plane was carrying 95 passengers and crew. Earlier media reports put the number at 105.
The aircraft is a Dutch-made Fokker-100, Fars reported.
In August, one of the airline's Fokker-100s skidded off a runway while landing in the northern Iranian city of Tabriz, lightly injuring two passengers.
Iran has a history of frequent air accidents blamed on its aging aircraft and poor maintenance.
