Member of Parliament of Tiruvannamalai D Venugopal raised the issue in the meeting, stating that he received information that the dean was not regular to the hospital. “I saw reports in the media and also received information that the dean was not coming to the institution regularly. I learnt that she was staying in Chennai and coming once in a week or a few times every month ever since she took charge,” said the MP.The MP was informed that Directorate of Medical Education (DME) has sent an official communication to senior surgeon Dr P Usha Kalyani to take over as dean in-charge and carry out administration work. She received the official communication on September 15 after the issue of the absenteeism of the dean reached the DME.
