MLA inspects affected areas

VELLORE: Anaicut MLA M Kalaiarasu who inspected the cyclone affected areas in Kottavur, Melarasampattu, Ammanur, Madaiyapattu, Vannathangal villages in his constituency here said that over 20 acres of banana crops were found damaged.After inspecting the region, he estimated a loss of `75,000 per acre in each village. The farmers had requested him to take up the issue with the state government to waive the loans that they had availed from the cooperative societies and banks besides helping them get  fresh loans. Kalaiarasu said, he had explained the situation of crop loss to the district collector who assured him that steps would be taken to get the relief measures.
