Mumbai: Late fashion model Viveka Babajee's family on Sunday claimed they have photographs and Internet messages to prove that stock analyst Gautam Vora was in a relationship with her and demanded he "come out with all truth about Viveka".
Viveka, 37, committed suicide by hanging herself at her fifth floor residence in Continental Towers in suburban Bandra on June 25.
Her family alleged that Vora had misguided the police about his relationship with Viveka and spread the "theory" that she was depressed. Family representative Dale Bhagwagar released seven photographs which allegedly show Viveka and Vora together, besides Gmail chats and Facebook messages exchanged between them in May and June.
"The printout copies of Viveka's Gmail and Facebook accounts and the photographic evidence, which signify their relationship as a couple in love, have been handed over to the police," Bhagwagar said.
Displaying copies of messages allegedly shared between the couple, Bhagwagar claimed: "Vora on different occasions referred to Viveka 'my love', 'I miss u', 'I love u', 'love u,' and 'cant wait to be in my Viveka's arms."
"This strongly suggests that they were in love," he said. "These messages suggest that Viveka was not in depression and busy with her schedule. Moreover, she was not financially weak."
Bhagwagar released a statement which said: "the Babajee family requests Gautam Vora to immediately approach the police and come out with all the truth about Viveka. Without further delay, they also want Gautam Vora to confess to the police about what exactly happened in the last meeting on the night before the incident, because from his behaviour, it seems that there is much more than what meets the eye."
A sessions court in Mumbai has directed the police not to arrest Vora without giving him 72-hour notice. He had applied for anticipatory bail, fearing he will be arrested for abetting Viveka's suicide.
