BJP prime ministerial candidate Narendra Modi launched an attack on Congress for 'poor governance' in Rajasthan, while addressing a rally on Thursday in Sikar, which he referred to as 'Rakshak Bhoomi'.

Taking a dig at Sonia Gandhi's remarks during her campaign where she had questioned where the opposition had been for the past 5 years, he said, "Neither you nor your family have answered the people for the past 60 years, we have seen that."

"Congress has broken many promises, they do not care about the poor. Houses do not have adequate sanitation facilities due to which women have to face difficulties. Villages do not have electricity. Infant mortality rate is very high in the state. Is this what you call as development?" he asked, adding that levels of malnutrition cases in Rajasthan has been on the rise and female literacy is very low.

"With a government like this, no development can happen in Rajasthan. Congress promised to bring inflation down within 100 days. Did that happen? They again broke their promise, you should throw out such government," he appealed to supporters.

Accusing the Delhi government of flaunting peoples' money as their own, he said "They keep saying we granted funds to states for development as if it is their personal wealth. Its people’s wealth. Gehlot government did not spend the money given by the Centre for welfare schemes for disabled children. Government could not even provide computers to students."

His list of complaints against Congress was not over yet. "Sikar suffers with water shortage. Atal ji dreamt of river linking. If this dream had been achieved then things would be different. Sikar knows before others which way the wind of change is blowing. BJP government rid Madhya Pradesh of BIMARU state tag, we will do the same for Rajasthan if you give us the power," he said.

What's your reaction?
