New Delhi: An air hostess with Air India, who had allegedly accused the pilot and co-pilot of sexual harassment three weeks ago, has been chargesheeted by the airline's authorities after an enquiry into the incident.
After a prolonged enquiry, she has been accused of not following the code of conduct and not complying with the company's policy. She has been reportedly charged for insubordination, talking to the media and tarnishing the image of the airline.
The air hostess had reportedly alleged that she had been molested mid-air while on a flight from Sharjah to Lucknow by the two pilots.
The lady refused to come on record but told CNN-IBN, "I have been targeted. I will fight to prove my innocence."
The airline had constituted a five-member committee on October 6, headed by a senior woman official, to examine charges of sexual harassment allegedly leveled by the airhostess against the two pilots.
The National Commission for Women (NCW) has also set up a five-member committee to probe the alleged victim's charges and provide a report within a month.
The air hostess and a flight purser had allegedly entered into an altercation with the pilot and co-pilot on October 3. The alleged incident took place when the Air India IC-884 flight from Sharjah to Lucknow was over Pakistan before first landing in Delhi and then finally landing at the Lucknow airport.
Air India had earlier chargesheeted the pilot and flight purser for endangering the safety of the passengers on board the flight.
