Mumbai court orders gag on CBI
Abu Salem?s lawyer has accused the CBI of giving out information to the media on the on-going probe of the 1993 Mumbai blasts.

Mumbai: The Special TADA court on Monday directed the CBI not to give out information relating to investigations being carried out in the 1993 Mumbai serial bomb blasts.

Ashok Sarogi, lawyer of extradited underworld don Abu Salem, who is being interrogated by CBI in the 1993 bomb blast case, pointed out that the CBI was being quoted by the media for information on the on going probe of Salem.

The prosecution's lawyer, C S Sharma, denied disclosing any information to the media by the CBI.

Hearing the application moved by the defence, TADA Judge P D Kode observed that there was nothing wrong in making public the information related to investigation.

However after the CBI pointed out that it had to furnish the information to Home Ministry or Parliament on demand, Kode added that the information should be given out only after it was furnished before the court conducting the trial in the case.
