New Delhi: Mumbai local-trains are getting a facelift. The railways will introduce 21 new services for the commuters.

New trains with advance technological systems like the GPS and commuter friendly features like larger windows and powerful blowers for better ventialltion are being introduced.

The trains have been designed by Siemens and the cost of manufacturing each train is about Rs 20 crore.

The Mumbai Railway Vikas Corporation has plans to procure more state of the art trains in the next five years.

Interestingly, the train has been designed in such a way that they can be converted into air-conditioned coaches in the future. These new services are in addition to the already available local train network.
