The DCP said that the officials were trying to separate the woman and her friend who were fighting with each other inside the police station.
Mumbai: A woman and her male friend were allegedly assaulted by policemen inside Andheri police station in Mumbai on November 1.
The Mumbai Police said the two were allegedly seen fighting in an inebriated state along the street after which they were taken to the police station.
A video clip has emerged that showed the girl and her friend being thrashed by a group of five-six officers.
An inquiry has been launched into the matter.
