The Congress kick-started its election campaign in Jammu and Kashmir with AICC President, Sonia Gandhi addressing a Mahila Convention in the state for the first time.
She asked women in the state to contribute their might in ensuring a win for the Congress in the forthcoming Assembly elections.

Nine months after she assumed office, President Pratibha Patil left for her first official visit to Latin America on Saturday.
In her 13-day visit, the President will hold meetings with her counterparts and also address the Parliaments in Mexico and Brazil. She will also be interacting with the Indian communities there and attending business meetings.
Uma Bharati for Tibet
The maverick sanyasin, Uma Bharati, who had fallen out of favour with the BJP and is trying her level best to get back into the party, is sending out yet another signal that she is falling in line.
Days after BJP leader Yashwant Sinha lent support to the Tibetan cause, Bharati has now decided to leave for the Tibet border from Joshimath on April 15 to protest against the Indian Government's policy on Tibet.
