Nehru aide detained under Goondas Act

TIRUCHY: The DMK Milaguparai branch secretary and close aide of former minister K N Nehru, Kajamalai S Vijai, was on Thursday detained under the Goondas Act in connection with several cases, including one on land grab.
Vijai was arrested, after he surrendered on Monday, following a complaint by Kaliamurthy (72), an STD booth owner in Kajamalai, that the DMK functionary had taken over his 40,000sq ft land. Vijai had absconded as soon as the complaint was filed.Vijai has a number of cases pending against him, including the assault of Baba Bakrudeen, a Tamil Nadu Muslim Munnetra Kazhagam functionary, of A Manivannan of Cantonment and R Subburam of Crawford.
