BANGALORE: Opposition Leader in Assembly Siddaramaiah termed reports about the possibilities of change of guard in the Karnataka Pradesh Congress Committee as “baseless and misleading”.Speaking to Express, Siddaramaiah, who also met AICC general secretary Madusudhan Mistry, said: “There is no such idea before the party high command on the issue.”Referring to his New Delhi visit and meeting with Mistry, Siddaramaiah chose to describe it as a “courtesy call” and that nothing more should be read in it. Replying to a question on the state government’s move to recommend another person for the post of the Lokayukta, he said: “So far, the state government has not consulted me on the issue.”The state government had reportedly recommended former Chief Justice of Chhatttisgarh High Court K H Khurang as new Karnataka Lokayukta for which the Governor sought additional clarification from the state government.
