Omkara gets tax exemption in UP as the movie spreads the message of checking crime among youth.
Lucknow: Vishal Bhardwaj's latest multi-starrer Hindi film Omkara was on Thursday granted exemption from entertainment tax for three months in Uttar Pradesh with the state government saying the movie spreads the message of checking crime among youth.
A decision to this effect was taken at a meeting of the state Cabinet, Chief Secretary N C Bajpai told newspersons.
He said the decision had been taken as the film starring Ajay Devgan, Saif Ali Khan and Kareena Kapoor among others, is set in the Western UP town of Meerut and spreads the message of checking rising crime among the youth.
