Ooty Hosts The Fun And Informative 135th Annual Dog Show With International Judge Panel
The Kennel Club at the Government Arts College grounds in Ooty hosted the 135th Dog Show featuring various dog breeds competing in different categories.

Ooty is one of the go-to hill stations during the summer in India. Located in the Nilgiris district of Tamil Nadu, it attracts many tourists across the year for its temperate weather and witness a few memorable events. Recently, from May 10 to 12, the Ooty Canine Club Dog Show, an annual event was held at this popular hill station. The 135th Annual Dog Show was held during the summer festival in the Nilgiris and was graced by many tourists.

To entertain the tourists, a summer festival is held. As a part of it, the Kennel Club at the Government Arts College grounds in Udhagamandalam (Ooty) hosted the 135th Dog Show featuring various dog breeds competing in different categories such as obedience, agility, and conformation. This special event attracts dog owners and enthusiasts from across the country to participate and showcase their furry friend’s talents and beauty.

Also, native dog breeds like Rajapalayam, Chippiparai, and Kombai were a part of the exhibition. In an interview with Local 18, Kennel Club President, Rajini Krishnan said, “We have been conducting dog shows in Ooty for a long time. The dog show is well received. Judges like Mario Magsaysay from the Philippines, Alex Zee of Taiwan, Chua Ming Kok and Patrick Wong from Singapore shortlisted the dogs at the event. Many rate breeds of dogs and famous country dogs also participated in this dog show.”

The dogs were shortlisted based on several aspects like obedience, maintenance, self-control and skills. The Ooty Dog Show not only serves as a great platform to showcase the skills and abilities of different dog breeds but also offers information about these canines. It also promotes responsible pet ownership and the importance of training and caring for dogs. It helps the audience to learn about different dog breeds. The show witnessed dog breeds like Bichon Frieze, English Pointer, Rhodesian Ridgeback, Basenji, Cavalier Kind and Charles Spaniel, as well as other Indian breeds like Caravan Hound, Kanni, Mudhol Hound, Pashmi and others.

But this is not all. The Ooty Dog Show includes various activities and events like dog grooming, breed-specific seminars and opportunities for pet adoption. Overall, the event is all about entertaining event that highlights the bond between humans and their canine friends. Along with the fun, it also becomes an informative event.
