BANGALORE: Chief Minister D V Sadananda Gowda had to cancel the tea party he had organised for the Opposition leaders as the latter turned down his invitation.After taking over as the CM, he had announced that he would hold a meeting with the Opposition leaders every week and discuss developmental issues with them. In keeping with his promise he had organised a breakfast meeting with the Opposition leaders of both houses of the Legislature. Besides sending the invitation, Gowda is said to have personally invited the leaders over phone. Opposition leader Siddaramaiah said he decided not to attend the meeting as the invitation did not state the purpose of meeting `2K PER TONNE OF SUGARCANEThe state government has assured sugarcane growers that it would ask sugar factories to pay `2,000 as advance per tonne of sugarcane supplied during the coming season. The decision was taken at a meet held by the CM with representatives of farmers’ associations and sugar factories
