Sharif and Zardari had announced they would reinstate the judges within 60 days of assuming power.

New Delhi: The coalition party leaders in Pakistan have reportedly made some headway in talks to save the month-old government.

Former Pakistan Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif rushed to Dubai for talks after his party leaders failed to reach an agreement with Pakistan People's party leader Asif Zardari over reinstating judges sacked by President Musharraf.

Sharif and Zardari, after the elections, had announced they would reinstate the judges within 60 days of assuming power.

The 60-day deadline ended on Wednesday, leading to fears of a breakdown in relations between the two parties.

Some leaders of Sharif's Pakistan Muslim League (Nawaz), or PML (N), had even hinted their ministers could quit the government if the issue was not resolved.
