Pakistan: Karachi stock exchange makes history, cross 25,000 points
The Karachi Stock Exchange's (KSE) benchmark 100-share index crossed 25,000 during mid-day trading and ended the day on 24,870 points.

Karachi: Pakistan's main stock exchange in Karachi achieved a new landmark on Friday when it crossed the 25,000-point mark for the first time in the country's history.

The Karachi Stock Exchange's (KSE) benchmark 100-share index crossed 25,000 during mid-day trading and ended the day on 24,870 points.

Dealers said that the index rose by more than 190 points on Friday continuing the rising trend in the stock market. The benchmark had increased by 355.31 points on Thursday.

Yesterday, although trading was cautious but the pace picked up around mid-day when the 100-index crossed the psychological 25,000-point mark mainly on the back of institutional trading.

In the money market the rupee ended at 108.32/108.38 against the dollar, compared to Thursday's close of 108.50/108.56.
