Paris: The gunman who had taken two persons as hostage at a post office near Paris on Friday has been arrested. The hostages have also been freed, police said.
The hostages were taken at a post office in Colombes, a northwest suburb of Paris, reports said.
The accused was armed and had two hostages. He had contacted the security forces did not clarify his demands.
The Paris hostage situation was not an act of terror, the police said.
One helicopter of the security agencies surveyed the area. The incident happened before 1300 hours local time, the reports said.
Last week, three gunmen were killed after they took several people hostage. Four hostages also lost their lives in that incident. The gunmen were the suspects of Charlie Hebdo attack.
