Police draw similarity between Bodh Gaya and Patna blasts
As the modus operandi in Patna blasts being similar to the one in Bodh Gaya, investigators are now investigating a possible link between the bombers responsible for Patna and Bodh Gaya blasts.

Patna: As the probe investigations into the Patna blasts pointed to the role of Indian Mujahideen, investigators started hunt for Tehsin Akhtar, who is said to be the leading a Ranchi module.

NIA and Bihar Police officials believe Tehsin Akhtar alias Monu,the head of IMs Darbhangha module hatched the conspiracy, and procured the explosives for the Patna serial blasts that killed six and injured more than 80.

"The suspects came in three teams. Their motive was to create chaos and a stampede," said SSP Patna, Manu Maharaj.

Police claims questioning of the suspect and raids at the Ranchi house has led to some key leads and recoveries. Seven mobile numbers suspected to be that of his aides have allegedly been recovered by the police during raids.

Preliminary analysis of the bomb has shown that half a kilogram of explosives possibly ammoniun nitrate. What was more worrying was a timer that was set up with the IED.

Meanwhile, the police are conducting search operations in Jharkhand and North Bihar.
