New Delhi: Policemen from every district under the Delhi Police and girl students from various schools and colleges of the Capital city on Monday took part in the ongoing Police Week celebration with great enthusiasm and determination.
More than 1,200 girls from various schools and colleges in the national Capital participated in the programme. They displayed different self-defence techniques that they had learnt in the due course. Last year, more than 20,000 girls from different schools and colleges were given self-defence training in South-western range which comprises of two big districts of Delhi – West and Southwest.
Delhi Police Commissioner Amulya Patnaik attended the mega self-defence event as the chief guest on Monday. Patnaik highlighted the need for women to be self-secure and empowered and congratulated the participants. He also coined the term Sashakti for the self-defence training that is being organised all over Delhi as part of the Police Week celebration.
