THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Council for Science, Technology and Environment joint director R Prakashkumar has been elected as a Fellow of the Linnean Society of London. Founded in 1788, the Linnean Society of London is the world’s premier society for the study of Taxonomy and Natural History. The society is based at Burlington House, Piccadilly, London, and there are only approximately 2,000 Fellows across the world.The Fellowship Committee considered the contributions made by R Prakashkumar in science and technology management, aerobiology, environmental biology, biodiversity conservation and promotion of science and technology in Kerala.Similarly, the recent initiatives Prakashkumar had been taking at the Malabar Botanical Garden, Kozhikode, in the areas of biodiversity conservation were also considered for the Fellowship Award.
