New Delhi: President Pranab Mukherjee returned to Delhi shortly on Saturday cutting short his visit to Odhisa after his wife Suvra fell ill and was hospitalised.
On landing, the President drove straight to the Army's Research and Referral Hospital in Cantonment area to see his wife.
Official sources said Suvra, who has been ill for sometime, was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the hospital.
The President was on a two-day visit to Odhisa and he was scheduled to attend a convocation of National Law University at Cuttack.
The President's sister and brother-in-law, who were with him on his trip to Odisha, also returned with him.
