A remake of Tamil super hit film 'Subramanyapura' Kannada version 'Prem Adda' is locked in title controversy. The title 'Adda' in the hands of director Prem for a long time later moving to producer BK Srinivas via Sa Ra Govindu with the help of Dashavara Chandru is the root cause for the title controversy.
BK Srinivas is the title holder of 'Adda' but director Prem starring film kept the title 'Prem Adda' for Subramanyapura remake. The KFCC approved the title and said the title fonts should be uniform in size. For making 'Prem' small in letters and 'Adda' big in size the KFCC raised objection and instructed all newspapers not to publish the ads.
The stalling of ads has put the producer Muralikrishna in to inconvenient spot. He is now ready to take the issue of title of 'Prem Adda' according to his liking to the court of law. There are several cases of Namma Basava, Veera Madhakari, Kiran Bedi getting small size prefixes like Kannadadha Veera Madhakari, Kannadadha Kiran Bedi etc. Producer Muralikrishna has approached the Producers Association in this case and no justice done he would go to the court to retain the title that he wants.
Director Mahesh Babu says keeping a title is also a creative job. In cinema for such creativity there should not be any bindings he felt.
Hero of 'Prem Adda' Prem also well known director in Kannada cinema was not present at the emergency media address held on Tuesday evening.
